Join the Church
By joining the Evangelical Lutheran Church, you become part of our large and diverse community. You are warmly welcome!
Our community
All baptised Christians can join the Evangelical Lutheran Church without being baptised again. If you are not baptised, you can learn more about the meaning of baptism in Lutheranism.
Baptism and membership in the Church provide a lasting foundation for life. You become part of a Christian tradition that has supported people through life’s many changes for thousands of years. The Church in Vantaa is part of the worldwide Christian community. Your local parish is determined by where you live. You are remembered in prayer even when you are not there in person. You are warmly welcome to join us.
Church membership brings with it both rights and responsibilities. As a member, you engage in the Church’s mission of sharing the Gospel and helping people by participating in church activities and paying the church tax (presently 1 % of your gross income). In addition, you can use all the services we offer and make your voice heard by voting in parish elections every four years.
