Family counselling and guidance

The family counsellors of the Church in Vantaa provide families with guidance and support. Your problems may concern relationships between partners or between children and parents. 

Our family counselling services are always strictly confidential. Often, a conversation with a professional will help you forward. All of our workers have special training for family guidance issues. Our services are available to all Vantaa residents regardless of church membership or religious affiliation.

You can visit us alone or come with your partner or other family member, whatever suits your situation best.

Join special groups and courses

We organise special groups and courses for families twice a year. You will find more information about these groups on our website when the groups are starting.

Are you in a multicultural relationship or marriage? Research has identified both the strengths and the unique challenges that multicultural couples may encounter in their relationships. This discussion group offers an opportunity to explore these topics together in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Themes for discussion include: Communication in multicultural relationships, Raising children in multicultural families, Navigating cultural differences and expectations, Building understanding and strengthening relationships. Other topics suggested by participants.

This group is for couples who: Are from different cultural or national backgrounds; Share the same cultural background but are living in a foreign host culture; or Come from different cultural backgrounds and are living together in a third culture.

Registration and Participation: Registration is binding, as participants are expected to commit to attending all four sessions during the autumn. The meetings will take place from 6:00–8:00 pm at Hakunila Church, Vantaa. Couples are welcome to join even if they live outside Vantaa.

Participation is free of charge. Registration opens on August 27th.

The group provides an opportunity to share experiences, learn from others, and discuss practical ways of strengthening relationships across cultures in a welcoming and supportive environment.
