Worship services

In the worship service, we pray, sing, and learn more about Jesus and God.

Coming together to worship God

The worship service, or Holy Mass, is held every Sunday in the churches of Vantaa parishes usually at 10 am (in Finnish or Swedish). An English-language service is held every Sunday at 12pm at Tikkurila Church, and a bilingual (Finnish–English) service is held at Myyrmäki Church approximately once a month.

In the worship service, we pray, sing, and learn more about Jesus and God. We also gather around the altar to celebrate Holy Communion (Lord’s Supper, Eucharist), where we remember the sacrifice that Jesus made when he suffered for our sake on the cross. Holy Communion is one of the two sacraments – visible signs of God’s grace, which we can hold on to by faith.

The church service is a place where God nurtures our faith by serving us. In many parishes, there is time for informal fellowship after the service over a cup of coffee or tea.

You are welcome to join us in any service even if you do not speak Finnish. Some parishes have a printed order of service in English available.
